A Blind Date at vier.zentrale
Jan Marshalek (EX Wirecard COO) boarded a private jet in Bad Vöslau near Vienna in June 2021. He landed in Minsk, where his trail was lost. A few days later, an international arrest warrant was issued, but Marshalek had disappeared and remains missing.
Inspired by this story, we wonder: Is it possible to leave the EU without leaving any trace, be it digital, personal or official? If you wanted to go into hiding, how would you do it? What if an arrest warrant is already in force against you while you are still in Europe? Are there still ways to leave the EU unnoticed? How do you get money? A new passport? A new face?
Based on a collection of video material around the topics of extradition agreements, EU borders, money laundering, document forgery and digital footprints, six artists from different disciplines meet for the first time for a one-week Blind Date and explore these questions together. At the end of the week, the process will be opened to the public and the artists invite you to join in the discussion.
